Health preservation, physical education
University physical education is the last educational opportunity to teach students about healthy lifestyles. At Neumann János University, two semesters of compulsory physical education are included in the curriculum. As we know, daily exercise is a requirement in primary and secondary education, partly to ensure that students who are accustomed to exercise and enjoy physical activity enter higher education institutions. Our goal in this area is to encourage as many students as possible to take exercise classes from our range of optional courses, in addition to compulsory physical education.
To this end, John von Neumann University offers a number of opportunities for students to try out familiar or new sports. In recent years, the range of sports on offer has been revamped, with new elements appearing alongside traditional sports. In recent years, elective courses have included spinal gymnastics, tennis, rugby, futsal, B33, functional strength training, Cuban salsa, bachata, basic skydiving, and dragon boating.
Recreational sports area
In recent years, we have introduced a number of themed events for recreational athletes at our institution. In addition to B33 basketball, mixed volleyball, and futsal, students and staff an also participate in tennis, table tennis, boxing, wrestling, and weightlifting competitions.
